Leicester

Student city guide to Leicester

With a huge student population, Leicester is a lively, multicultural city with a lot to experience. Our student accommodation is ideally located close to both of its universities.

The many different neighbourhoods in Leicester range from the chilled canal area to the vibrant creative quarter and what is reputedly Britain’s most multicultural street. Students dominate the city, with more than 60,000 of them at its two universities and college.

The home of the remains of Richard III and the National Space Museum, Leicester offers a lot to enjoy with a wealth of venues and events. The city hosts the Riverside Festival, Download and Noisily music festivals in the summer, and there are plenty of student nights throughout the year.

A growing number of independent bars and restaurants across the city make for an exciting food and drink scene. Sports fans take pride in recent Premier League champions, Leicester City, as well as renowned rugby, cricket and basketball teams.

Our two Leicester student accommodation sites, Grosvenor House and Opal Court, are located in the city centre, within walking distance of De Montfort University, the University of Leicester and a wide range of bars, restaurants and entertainment venues. You can find a range of student rooms and private studios in a convenient location with iQ.
