Celebrating International Women's Day at iQ

International Women's Day is celebrated each year on the 8th March. It gives us a chance to put a spotlight on the achievements of women, both big or small, for everyone to see.

What’s the theme for 2023?

IWD is celebrated through the lens of a different theme each year. In 2023, the focus is on driving the message that a world that's diverse, equitable and inclusive, should be the norm. It’s about encouraging people to #EmbraceEquity.

Let’s celebrate the achievements of women, whether they’re close to your heart or someone you admire from afar. Let’s raise awareness around gender discrimination. Let’s take action to drive gender equity and equality.

How are we celebrating?

At iQ, we’re celebrating #IWD2023 by bringing together all the content we’ve enjoyed seeing, and sharing it back all with you. We’ll be sharing the best of the best on our Instagram page, so do follow us @iqstudents to keep an eye out.

We’ve also got something special for members of our #iQBookClub. We’re giving aw

ay 100 copies of ‘The Science of Strong Women’ by Rhiannon Lee to help you to feel inspired by the stories of some great women. Join the iQ Book Club to avoid missing out.

Devyani

is a one who set up my entire life. She taught me more than I could have learnt from any book. She sets an inspirational example to me by teaching me how to live life and make choices, even in the most uncertain situations she always stood strong and independent which inspires me to be able to stand on my feet and be a strong women in society. She always makes sure with professional life she handles the family and takes care which teaches how one should be able to balance out things. She is a huge inspiration for me. I respect her and love her a lot. Whatever I am today is because of her.

Eloise

I am inspired by the artist Halsey, one of the most inspirational modern artists around. She has inspired me by not being afraid to speak up about what she believes in whether it's about women's rights, LGBTQ+ rights or politics. By using her platform like this she inspires millions and encourages people to stand up for what they believe in.

Anushka

I look up to my mum for the dedication and hard work that she puts into everything that she does, whether it is the most mundane household tasks or spreading creativity. She is the most giving, caring and empathetic person I will ever meet.

Aaditya

Mother Teresa inspires me with her strength and compassion in the face of adversity, her dedication to making the world a better place, and her ability to share her wisdom and experiences. She was incredibly selfless and devoted her life to helping others.
