How we support international students
Moving out of home for the first time is a big deal. Moving to a different country to study can be an even bigger challenge. Over half of our residents come from overseas, so we know what it takes to settle into a home away from home and to make it a year to remember.
Here are some key ways that we support international students.
Before you arrive
Online guides
Moving to a new place can feel overwhelming when you don't know what's around or where to go. We've got guides for each of our locations, in each of our cities, to give you all the info you need to feel like a local. From your nearest pharmacy, to some op places to eat, check it out before you arrive and have your fave shops sorted.
Order your essentials

During your stay
24/7 support
We've made our locations safe and secure so that you can feel comfortable during your stay. With CCTV and 24/7 staff presence, there's always a friendly face to welcome you home at the end of each day.
Our teams are also there to listen to anything you need, whether that's something with your room, or a personal issue. They're trained to point you to the right support, and our Feel Good partnerships with Shout and Student Minds give you even more room to work through your wellbeing.
The iQ app makes it super easy to get support too, whether you need to reach out to our site teams or request a maintenance fix in just a few clicks.
Easy billing
We include bills as part of our rent payments, so there's no extra worry about having superfast wifi or a warm and cosy room.
Paying is also super simply. International bank transfers can be made through Convera, but for instant payments, you can use iQ Easy Pay. With just a resident's iQ ID number and their email address, you can make an online payment using Visa or Mastercard, plus lots more options including WeChat and UnionPay.
Social events
Our onsite spaces give you an easy place to meet other residents with easy conversation starters, whether that's in our games rooms, cinema rooms, gyms or sky lounges. Our teams host events in these spaces to make things even simpler, and you can always expect a welcome event to say hi to other residents as soon as you arrive.
iQ Clubs give you another way to meet likeminded residents, with dedicated online groups for gamers, foodies and book lovers.
Cultural celebrations
With residents from across the globe, we think its important to help bring the comforts of home to site. From Chinese New Year to Diwali, our onsite teams make every effort to celebrate these special moments with events, decorations and well wishing.
