How to Leave on a High with iQ

Checking out Handy tips Student life

It’s move-out season at iQ, but before you go, we wanna say that we hope you’ve had a year of bests with iQ. With your scheduled move-out date coming up, we’ve got a list of everything you need to leave on a high.

Download your iQ FastPass

The iQ FastPass makes checking out super easy. To get it, complete your pre-checkout info on the iQ app, and make sure to pay any outstanding balances before you leave. This’ll save you time on the day you leave.

That’s a wrap!

We know packing to move can be the most overwhelming part, as throughout the year you’ve collected new clothes, books & memories. But, the best way to start is by figuring out what you don’t want anymore. If you create a pile of clean clothes or kitchenware that aren’t your vibe, or that you don’t need anymore, you can drop these things in the British Heart Foundation collection bins. Once this is out of the way, create sections of your things – clothes, breakables, bathroom stuff and kitchenware to make unpacking even easier.

If you’re coming back to iQ, or your uni city, then why not pop your stuff into storage with LOVESPACE rather than take it home? You can use code LOVEiQ for £10 off too.

Make a clean getaway

The best way to avoid extra charges after moving out is to clean your room, shared kitchen (or private kitchenette) and bathroom. If available, you can reserve a hoover on the iQ app, and grab bin liners, mops, buckets, and cleaning clothes from the departure lounge, set up in your iQ reception. Be sure to eat, donate or throw away any food from your kitchen cupboards and fridge too. We recommend popping your fave playlist, audiobook or podcast on to make it go quicker, or invite some mates over and make it a team effort! This is a great time to report any maintenance issues you’ve noticed too.

Our top tip is to always check under and down the sides of your bed whilst cleaning – that lip balm you thought vanished forever is probably down there!

Farewell tour

In your last couple of weeks at iQ, why not create a ‘bucket list’ for your fave places. Grab once last ice-cold drink from the vending machine before kicking back in the cinema room or defeating your mates at ping pong.

Final steps

As your last admin task, make sure to redirect your mail, so you don’t miss any important info once you’re home for the summer. Then, all that’s left is to return your keys once you’re ready to go.
