Meet the Team: iQ Manchester Gardens, Manchester

The most recent addition to the iQ Manchester family, Manchester Gardens is a great place to base yourself if you want peaceful surroundings and a bit of outdoor space, while still being a short hop from the city centre and universities. A short walk from Birchfield Park and the ornate Victoria Baths, as well as plenty of useful local amenities, it’s ideal for socialising with pretty gardens and a barbecue area. The staff and the green gardens!

What are your favourite places to go in Manchester?

Running in the local parks and grabbing a coffee on Oxford Road.

What’s your favourite band/ TV show/ movie?

Band – Kasabian, TV show – First Dates, Movie – A Star is Born.

Where is the best place you have travelled to recently?

New Zealand.

What are you looking forward to this year?

Holding events for the residents.

Any interesting facts about yourself?

I play football for Salford City Ladies.

If you could give your younger self some advice about student life, what would it be?

Embrace it all.

The local park for a bit of fresh air.

Grab every opportunity as these are the best years of your life.

Haughton Green, dog walking. The scenery is beautiful.

Meeting all the new residents.

Bee Gees/ Only Fools and Horses/ Get Carter.

The beautiful grounds.

Bon Jovi/ Game of Thrones / Forgetting Sarah Marshall.

The USA.

If you could give your younger self some advice about student life, what would it be?

Enjoy having no bills to pay.

I’m a 2nd Dan black belt in karate, and a singer-songwriter.

The nice outside space, the quiet and peaceful environment and the friendly staff.

What are you looking forward to this year?

To meet students, make them feel at home and have fun together at events.

I got a box of chocolates as a ‘thank you’ for opening a can of tuna!

What’s your favourite TV show?

The Big Bang Theory.

Where is the best place you have travelled to recently?

Barcelona, I loved it! Weather, food, people, the beach…

If you could give your younger self some advice about student life, what would it be?

Enjoy every single day of this great experience, make new friends, go to parties, do not get too stressed. Make the best of it.
