Nupur Munot: Why I rebooked at iQ Shoreditch

With its smart social areas, vibrant neighbourhood and convenient location for the London College of Fashion, Istituto Marangoni and many others, our Shoreditch site attracts many creative-minded students. What's it like to live there? We asked resident Nupur Munot for her take on iQ Shoreditch.

'This is my second year living at iQ Shoreditch and there are lots of reasons why I have chosen to live here again. iQ Shoreditch is the perfect choice for me, and my parents are happy in the knowledge I am safe – iQ Shoreditch has 24/7 security and CCTV.

One of the biggest reasons why I rebooked was the location, I wasn’t ready to give up living right in the heart of London! The building is located in Zone 1, only a 2-minute walk from Old Street Tube Station, and close to bus stops, supermarkets and even the post office.

I love my room and it suited my budget and lifestyle. There are loads to choose from and all the rooms I have seen are modern, spacious and have great natural light.

During my stay last year with iQ, I suffered from homesickness and the staff at iQ helped me get through my difficulties and gave me support. I felt like I had a home away from home which gave me the comfort and motivation I needed to start a life abroad and get through my first year of university.

They host events in the shared spaces every month so it was easy for me to make new friends and get to know the staff and the rest of the students. There are loads of social spaces including a dance room, music room and games room which are great for hanging out with friends. The study rooms also come in handy during revision times when I don't want to be distracted.

Overall, I feel comfortable at iQ and am really happy with my lifestyle; I don't have to worry about anything at all. The bills are included and the internet is very fast, so I can stay connected with my family. Everything I want and need is on my doorstep.'
