Site spotlight: iQ Wilmslow Park

Welcome to iQ Wilmslow Park, based in the east of Manchester and right in the midst of a vibrant student neighbourhood. If you’re looking for one of most sociable accommodations in Manchester, this is it.

Manchester

With 1002 bedrooms, endless social areas, and a sizeable gym, it’s no wonder this is one of the area’s most popular sites. Here’s Taija from our Wilmslow Park team to run you through its best bits, features and nearby student hotspots.

Best bits

Wilmslow has an eclectic mix of en suite rooms and communal hubs, so you can experience the perfect balance of work and play. Each flat contains a shared kitchen, lounge and diner and all rooms are fully furnished.

If you do decide to become part of the iQ community, you’ll get 24/7 access to the onsite gym. Free weights, ellipticals, rowing machines – you name it, we’ve got it.

Prefer exercising outside? Whitworth Park (pictured above) is directly outside the building, brilliant for both a run and a summer’s evening spent with flatmates.

Skip trying to find a space in the library. At Wilmslow Park you’ll find an abundance of comfy seating and atmospheric spaces for you to knuckle down and get your study mode on.

As well as quiet study spots, around Wilmslow Park you will also find snooker, tennis tables, air hockey and an arcade. The Hub social space also has a PS4 and Xbox that can be used by residents at any time. Check out our Instagram Story tour of all the social areas here.

Already booked a room with us? Make sure you join the resident group for the upcoming year to meet your blockmates ahead of time and stay updated on the fun happenings around site. With Government guidelines lifting, the iQ Wilmslow Park team are excited to go back to hosting their iconic social events and resident meet-ups.

What’s around iQ Wilmslow Park?

Located just off Oxford Road, living in iQ Wilmslow Park is a great place to soak up some Manc atmosphere without needing to head into the city centre. You’re also just a short distance from the city’s universities. Both the University of Manchester and Manchester Metropolitan University are about 19 minutes' walk away.

In a bit of a rush or have heavy books you need to take home? Don’t worry – right outside the building is a bus stop with transport links to take you around the city, whether that is back and forth from university to the local shops or on a night out.

Big grocery shops such as Tesco, Lidl, Poundland and Superdrug are all very close, as is a wide choice of restaurants. (Our favourite has got to be Oodles n’Oodles). Many restaurants in the area offer student discounts so be sure to ask for this.
