City Centre

Close to the University of Sheffield and Sheffield Hallam University, Broomhall is a popular walkway between the two unis and makes a great spot for students from different campuses to meet up or even share accommodation. It’s also a quick walk or bus ride into the city centre. Sheffield’s famous Ecclesall (“Eccy”) Road is on one side of Broomhall, where you’ll find some of the area’s most popular bars, pubs and restaurants.


Not to be confused with its neighbour, Broomhill is the area just north of Broomhall, also known for its student-friendly vibe and great access to both unis. Broomhill’s convenient location and local shops, cafés and takeaways make it popular with students.  

If you’re looking for a beautiful natural space to relax – especially in the summer – the Sheffield Botanical Gardens are within walking distance from Broomhall and Broomhill.


A popular student hub with a great central location, just off the University of Sheffield’s main campus and close to the Arts Tower. Crookesmoor has plenty of popular pubs, shops and cafés, and some fab local parks and green spaces to enjoy. It’s also said to have the biggest student population in Sheffield, so you can rest assured you’ll always have a few mates nearby.


A small but vibrant neighbourhood, close to the city centre and the University of Sheffield. Students enjoy the sense of community in Netherthorpe, and take full advantage of the nightlife on nearby West Street, known for its selection of clubbing hotspots, live music venues and local watering holes. There are loads of weekly student nights around Sheffield, so you can check out the hottest local spots on a student’s budget.
