It’s Wellbeing Week at iQ and we’re focusing on ways you can look after your wellbeing through events, content on our Instagram and promoting University Mental Health Day on March 12th. This year, the theme is Human Connection, so we asked some of our residents how they find connection at iQ.
For Alex from iQ Tufnell Park, they find community in “the people they interact with every day” in their building. Naia said that talking to her friends and family is essential to looking after her wellbeing, but that her biggest tip to others is “eating well”. We’re partnered with Student Minds, Shout and The Mix – mental health charities that can help you look after your wellbeing if you’re struggling. Some of the things they offer are:
You can also use Headspace for mindfulness support, with yoga, meditation and sleepcast programmes.
There will be exciting events ranging from therapy dogs (iQ Leeds) to screen-free painting (iQ Broderick House) and even a scavenger hunt (iQ Alice House) happening at your iQ throughout the week, focusing on connection and community. If you aren’t sure what events your iQ is holding, check your noticeboard on the iQ app, or chat to your team at reception. We’re also posting on Instagram every day this week with suggestions on how to look after your wellbeing, and photos from events. We’d love to see what you’re up to, so be sure to tag us, @iqstudents and use #MyiQLife when you’re taking part!
