Aston University

Aston’s buildings span 60 acres of land in Gosta Green, an area to the north east of Birmingham City centre. Students studying there get the benefits of a leafy campus university as well as everything the city has to offer.

Ahead of the curve in modern higher education trends, Aston is the university that pioneered work placements for students. 50 years since innovating with the concept, over 70% of students studying there now take a placement year.

It’s probably no surprise that with such strong links to industry and business, Aston University has ranked in the top 10 universities for producing millionaires. Aston’s alumni include many politicians and global business leaders, as well as Scottish comedian, Frankie Boyle. Aston’s business school is one of the oldest in the UK, and is ranked 8th in the country. It was the first UK university to receive the esteemed EQUIS accreditation.

Both Penworks House and Studio 51 are ideal for Aston University students. They’re both right next door to the campus, and a short walk to the town centre and Birmingham’s New Street train station.
