The Ashmolean is the University of Oxford’s Museum of Art and Archaeology, so if you are interested in the world’s great civilisations, this is the place to be. Its collections are extraordinarily diverse and getting lost in its corridors can be a great stress killer, especially during exam periods.
Bodleian Library – 15 minute walk
The Bodleian Library is the main research library of the University of Oxford, and is one of the oldest libraries in Europe. With over 12 million items, it’s the second-largest library in Britain, after the British Library. If you need to do some research for your assignments’ bibliography, forget about Wikipedia – you will find all you need in here, and it’s beautiful too!

One of the most fun plans you can make in Oxford is ice skating. The Ice Rink venue is open all year, so there is no excuse not to come and have some fun. It also has a cosy café, perfect in case you prefer to enjoy the experience from afar.

Bicester Village – 47 minute train
This well-known outlet offers a massive range of designs and brands at discounted prices. Enjoy the luxury shopping but be careful with your wallet!
There is no better place to stay in Oxford than iQ Alice House, if you’re studying at St Hilda’s College, Magdalene College, Oriel or The Queen’s College, as they are only a 10-minute walk away.
There are a wide range of buses available outside iQ Alice House, such as Oxford Tube and X90, which will take you straight to London in 1.5 hours.
You will be able to easily get to city centre via routes 8, 9, 400, 13, X13 and 280, with the bus stop just 2 minutes’ walk from iQ Alice House.
