As well as academic excellence, Bristol University also places social life at the forefront. It claims the largest purpose-built student union in the country with a floor space equivalent to four football pitches. The university itself was named the 44th-best in the world in the 2018 QS University Rankings.
The Former University chancellor from 1929 to 1965, Sir Winston Churchill, is an example of the calibre of academics and high-profile names guarding the university's ethos. The H.H. Wills Physics Laboratory, opened in the 1920s, has housed three Nobel Prize winners.
The red brick institution offers over 200 undergraduate programmes across six faculties, including biosciences and a world-class faculty of engineering. Facilities at Bristol are also top of the class, with over £150 million ploughed into the university since 2011. It holds rare archive collections from the likes of The Brunel Collection and the Penguin Archive plus an impressive nine libraries, housing 1.4 million volumes of printed books and journals.
Stylish and ideally located to the east of the city centre, iQ Bristol offers a range of cosy rooms to call home and is just a 17-minute bus ride from the main campus.
