Student city guide to Bath

Bath is best known for the Roman-built baths that give it its name. A trip around the restored remains of the original site followed by a rooftop sunset dip in the new thermal baths makes for a pretty excellent day out. It’s packed with eye-catching sights, like the Royal Crescent which was named 'Britain's 2nd Most Picturesque Street' at the Google StreetView Awards. A walk down the Kennet & Avon Canal Path is definitely one of the prettiest the UK has to offer. Studying can be hard when there’s this much to Instagram.

Then there’s the stunning Bath Abbey, the many excellent museums and galleries and beautiful Georgian architecture. It also has top shopping, decent nightlife and great food. The Bath Guildhall Market is one of several treasure troves of independent traders, and the winding streets of the centre have plenty of other gems too. The city is also home to Bath Rugby as well as Bath Cricket Club.
