Preston is home to the University of Central Lancashire, the sixth-biggest uni in the country with over 33,000 students. With the city’s total population only four times that big, it really offers a great student experience. In town you’ll find excellent entertainment options, including three cinemas, a virtual reality attraction and escape rooms.

Shopping spots include the Miller Arcade, a listed building that houses a clutch of specialist shops. The arts and culture scene is bustling too, with a range of city spaces including the Harris Museum & Art Gallery and several theatre and music venues.
