Salford has seen a huge amount of regeneration in recent years. It’s now the home of MediaCityUK — where BBC Sport and ITV Granada are headquartered — so there’s no better place for students wanting to get into media.

Music tourists travel from all over to experience Salford’s legacy. The Smiths’ frontman Morrissey grew up in the city, and members of Joy Division and New Order also called Salford home. A short journey into central Manchester and you get the benefits of the bars, restaurants and nightlife that city is known for.
