Every year, Earth Hour is marked worldwide towards the end of March. The event encourages people around the world - individuals, communities, households and businesses - to turn off their lights for just an hour as a symbol of their commitment to fighting climate change.
This year, Earth Hour will take place on Saturday 28th March 8.30pm-9.30pm in the UK.
Earth Hour takes place every year, but it is more than just an event. It is a movement that aims to unite people across the world to protect the planet. At iQ Student Accommodation, we would like to encourage our students around the country to turn off their lights in support of Earth Hour. There are more than 5,000 students living at iQ sites around the country and if we all work together, we can considerably reduce the energy we use every day. There are plenty of ways to reduce the amount of energy you use by making small changes to your lifestyle.
So please consider taking part in Earth Hour this year!
