With all the Christmas excitement, let's not forget that one of the biggest nights of the year (particularly for students!) is on the way... New Year Eve is always a huge occassion, with special events being held up and down the country!
If you're a student at iQ Student Accommodation looking for something exciting to do on the big night, we've collected some fab ideas of top events happening around the UK. Here's what to do in each of the cities we are based in...
1. SUPERMARXTE - Gatecrasher
This is the one to go for if you want a wild night out. All the way from Ibiza, SUPERMARXTE is a huge dance night, and will be taking over Gatecrasher in Birmingham for New Year's Eve 2014/15! Tickets cost from £25-£40.
2. The Church
If you don't want to splash the cash to get into Gatecrasher, how about heading down to the Church where there's free entry! You'll have to turn up early to get in, but it promises to be a night to remember!
Looking for something a bit different? Head to Centenary Square to enjoy Birmingham's specatacular New Year's fireworks display. There will be iceskating and big wheel rides until late, and then you can watch the fireworks as 2015 roles in. Amazing!
1. KISSTORY, Syndicate
This promises to be a huge night with old school music and a great atmosphere. Tickets are only £10, so it's an affordable student option!
Pryzm are holding an eclectic New Year's Eve party that should keep everyone happy - with a range of music from cheese to dance and house to R'n'B as well as a 'retro-chic' dress code. Sounds good to us!
3. Head to the Bridge
At midnight, people from all over the city will descend on the Clifton Suspension Bridge to watch the firework displays taking place across the city. Whatever else you're doing on the night, this is a great spot from which to enjoy the buzzing New Year's Eve atmosphere and watch the fireworks. Make sure you wrap up warm!
If you're at iQ Grove or iQ Fountainbridge in Edinburgh for New Year's Eve, you'll get to enjoy the excitement of Hogmanay. And there's only really one way to do it...
Hogmanay Street Party
There really are no other options if you're spending New Year's in Edinburgh - you have to go to the street Party! With live music, DJs, the beautiful castle in the background and incredible fireworks at midnight, people descend on Edinburgh from all over the world to enjoy one of the year's biggest parties. Book your tickets in advance - wristbands are just £22.20
1. Love Leeds, Club Mission
Love Leeds is a huge New Year's event with a mix of music and DJs that carries on for 12 hours straight! If you want a long night, this is the party for you! Running from 10pm until 10am, tickets will set you back £20, but it sounds like it'll be well worth the money.
2. Twisted Circus, Tiger Tiger
Tiger Tiger are throwing a quirky extravaganze for New Year's Eve this year, with side show acts, circus freaks, stage performers, tasty food, great DJs and even an appearance from Danny Dyer. What more could you want?
3. Roxy Ball Room
If you're looking for something a bit different on New Year's Eve, Roxy Ball Room are offering free entry all night (plus free pizza between 8 and 10pm). Play pool, beer pong or ping pong and enjoy some delicious drinks for a truly unique New Year's Eve!
1. The Star of Bethnal Green
With great DJs and music until 4am, the Star of Bethnal Green's New Year's Eve party promises to be a load of fun. And there are limited Early Bird tickets available for just £6!
2. Moulin Rouge Party, The Ice Bar
If you're after something a bit special, the oppulent New Year's Eve Moulin Rouge Party is taking place in the spectacular Ice Bar. Burlesque, dancing, music and food in a sumptuous setting make this a step up from the usual student events... Tickets start at £28 including champagne on arrival.
3. Lost in Wonderland, 93 Feet East
If you're happy to splash out slightly more, the trendy 93 Feet East in Shoreditch is hosting an Alice in Wonderland themed party with incredible DJs, 4 rooms, complimentary Mad Hatter cocktails, and music until 5am.
4. The Fireworks
Although you'll need a ticket to go to the official fireworks display on the Southbank, there will be fireworks going off all over the city at midnight, and as long as you find yourself somewhere with a good view, stop what you're doing and head outside to enjoy them!

Celebrate the start of the New Year with a weird and wonderful night out at Evoque... Tickets start at just £5, but you'll have to be there before 11pm to get in!
The biggest New Year's Eve house party in Preston is taking place at the fun and stylish Rift & Co. Book your tickets in advance for a brilliant night out...
1. The bug ft flowdan, Islington Mill
This promises to be a huge, ecelectic event with a mix of dubstep, electronic and grime playing throughout the night in a mix of connected venues. Tickets are on sale for £25, but as the night will be starting at 10pm and ending at 8am, it'll be well worth it!
2. I Feel Love, The Blue Pig
Head a little further afield to the Blue Pig in Manchester to enjoy a mix of musical genres throughout the night. Entry is free, so you can't really go wrong!
3. Lovers and Hippies Secret Warehouse Party
Based in a secret location in Manchester, this party is an all-out event with loads of DJs and dressing up encouraged! This should be a good night, and tickets are on sale for £15 now!
Head over to this Las Vegas themed event on New Year's Eve to enjoy a casino, burlesque dancers, Elvis and some great tunes! An extravagent night out, tickets start at only £8, making this a fantastic choice for a student budget.
2. Billionaire Extravaganza, Crystal Bar
This big night out promises to be a load of fun, and you don't ACTUALLY need to be a billionaire to enjoy it as tickets are just £10! There will be great tunes over two rooms, carrying on until 41m.
