13th April 2021 – New appointments signal strength of the private purpose-built student accommodation sector
iQ Student Accommodation today announces the appointment of two new members of its executive leadership team, both of whom will play key roles in delivering the company’s ambitious growth plans.
Dushyant (Dush) Sangar joins as Chief Investment Officer, effective from 21 April 2021. Dush joins from Intu Properties PLC where he spent 10 years leading on the group’s investment strategy, corporate investment and M&A activity, including their acquisitions, divestments, joint ventures and international investments.
To further support iQ’s growth agenda, and lead on a range of strategic initiatives, Peter Cross will join the team in the new role of Director of Strategy and Shareholder Relations. Peter brings a wealth of experience, joining from Global Student Accommodation (GSA). Prior to this, he spent twelve years at Liberty Living as Investment Director, working alongside the CEO and leadership team to deliver the growth strategy for the business. Peter will join the business on 4 May 2021.
Commenting on the new appointments, Rob Roger, CEO of iQ said: “It is a great testament to the business and the strength of the PBSA sector that we have been able to attract such experienced operators to join our executive team. The UK remains a leading global destination for students and we have been pleased to see significant growth in applications for the coming academic year. With an ongoing shortage of high-quality, well-located accommodation, we are well positioned to continue to deliver on our ambitious growth plans. Dush and Peter’s experience in investment and student accommodation will be fantastic additions to iQ.”
