Abertay University

Abertay was the first uni in the world to offer a degree in computer games. These days they’re top in Europe for their undergraduate course and in the top 25 worldwide for their postgraduate course.

They offer courses across the fields of Design and Informatics, Science, Engineering and Technology, Business and Social and Health Sciences. These varied subjects attract a large number of mature students and their research output is highly regarded. Significant discoveries have been made by their teams in areas ranging from the environment to sports science.

Their city centre campus contrasts the historic old college buildings with new builds like the award-winning Bernard King library, whose curved glass frontage and stone ‘spine’ are designed to look like an open book. Their student union includes the Hannah Maclure Centre which houses an art gallery and a cinema that hosts regular free film screenings.

With places for just 4000 students, it provides an intimate university experience that gives all the benefits of a close-knit campus along with a city centre location. Our Parker House building is just a 6-minute walk from Abertay’s campus, with an onsite gym and laundry plus social space with pool table and regular social events.
