Embrace. Explore. Do.
Last year, we asked our residents to Embrace the Unexpected. This year, we’re taking things a couple of steps further: Embrace. Explore. Do.
We know from the research which kicked off our previous campaign that loneliness is an issue amongst students – it’s often felt, but not always talked about. What we didn’t see coming was a global pandemic which would limit everyone’s opportunities to connect with each other further, meaning that even those who wouldn’t have identified as lonely could do with a bit of support.
So, Embrace. Explore. Do. is for everyone. There’s plenty you can embrace, many activities to explore and lots of things you can do which will benefit you and others – it’s all about the wellbeing of our iQ community.
Look out for news of the latest Embrace. Explore. Do. initiatives so you can get involved.

Our partners at Shout and Relate are here for you.
Every year we see the impact that living away from home and facing the potential pressures of university life can have on students' wellbeing. That’s why we’ve partnered with mental health charity, Shout, a free, confidential, 24/7 support text line. The service can be accessed from anywhere, at anytime, by a UK mobile service user by simply texting SHOUT to 85258.
Relate is the UK's largest provider of relationship support, and in 2019 helped over two million people – including young people – to strengthen and build relationships. Their Relatehub offers a confidential 30 minute web chats with trained advisors, as well as access to online self-help resources. Anyone can access all their services on their website.
