University of Huddersfield

The University of Huddersfield is acclaimed for the quality of its teaching, winning the first Higher Education Academy Global Teaching Excellence Award in 2017 as well as a Teaching Excellence Framework Gold Award in the same year. Its students have excellent prospects, with 94.5% in work or further education within six months of graduating and HESA naming them in the Top 10 best universities in the UK for work placement in 2014-15.

Its research output is used to help shape its courses, meaning that its students are always on the cutting edge. Lots of their teachers, tutors and researchers are highly influential thought-leaders in their field, and these innovative qualities feed directly into their teaching.

Their main Queensgate Campus is bisected by the Huddersfield Narrow Canal, including converted mill-buildings as well as purpose-built ones. It has received over £250 million of investment, with recent additions including the Student Central building in 2014 and the Oastler Building for Law and the School of Music, Humanities and Media in 2017. The £22.5 million Student Central houses the student union and features and 800-capacity sports hall, the student radio station and magazine plus a bank and a range of food and drink options.

Both of our local buildings Aspley House and Castings are within easy walking distance of the University of Huddersfield campus and close to the centre of town. Features across them include onsite gyms, bike storage and a games room.
