Kingston University

Founded as Kingston Technical Institute in 1899, Kingston was granted university status in 1992 and specialises in the arts, design, fashion, science, engineering and business. It won The Guardian’s prestigious University Award for teaching excellence in 2017.

Alongside Olympians and Commonwealth Games medallists, former England rugby captain Lawrence Dallaglio is a former student. On the creative side, musician Eric Clapton studied at Kingston (although he didn’t graduate), and Hollywood actors including Ben Barnes and Harry Potter star Jessie Cave also walked these halls.

With four campuses around south west London, Kingston University students have easy access to central London. At the same time, they’re close to Wimbledon, the world-famous botanical gardens at Kew, and Richmond Park with its 2500 acres of greenery that’s home to families of deer.

Our Kingston building is just a short walk from the main campus buildings and offers an onsite gym, Sky TV and regular social events.
