Kingston

Student city guide to Kingston

A beautiful riverside town that delivers plenty of good times, Kingston is just a 30-minute train ride from central London. Our student accommodation building sits just a short walk from the Thames and the university campus.

Kingston is an energetic town with a prime location on the River Thames. Entertainment is found at the Rose Theatre, the 15-screen ODEON cinema and a bowling alley. It’s also home to the legendary Banquet Records shop which hosts regular in-store gigs and organises club nights in the city which attract big names and emerging talent alike.

It’s packed with history and located near beautiful countryside. Take a boat trip down the river for a chilled day out at a riverside pub, or if you fancy some retail therapy there’s plenty of that, with two shopping centres. Culture seekers can enjoy plenty of museums, galleries and gigs across town.

Our student accommodation iQ Kingston is centrally located, 10 minutes’ walk from Kingston University’s main campus and two minutes from the riverside and train station — taking you to London in 31 minutes. The building includes an onsite gym and lounge, and hosts a busy social calendar.
