Liverpool John Moores University

With over 25,000 students from over 100 countries, John Moores is one of the biggest and most diverse universities in the country. Spread across three campuses in the city centre and nearby Aigburth, it prides itself on inclusivity and representation and providing opportunities for further education for all backgrounds.

Its freshers events and Welcome Ball have featured acts such as Calvin Harris over the years. Other activities on campus in recent years have included a competition to win a placement at Liverpool Football Club, the Formula Student Team’s contest to build a Formula One car and a dodgeball contest in an inflatable arena. Students get free off-peak membership at the Lifestyles Fitness Centre and with more than 100 societies and sports teams on offer, there’s something for you whatever you’re interested in.

Its research efforts have been praised in recent times, with its rankings in the Research Excellence Framework one of the most improved in recent years. It’s also great on sustainability, with 100% of its electricity coming from renewable sources and 66% of its waste recycled.

Our Great Newton House building is within 15 minutes’ walk of the main city campuses and has its own outdoor terrace, onsite laundry, secure bike storage and regular social events.
