Considered to be the world’s leading art and design school, the Royal College of Art counts the likes of David Hockney, Tracey Emin, Ridley Scott and Henry Moore among its alumni. Incorporating schools of architecture, arts and humanities, communication and design, the college operates across three London sites, in White City, Kensington and Battersea.
The list of former RCA students who have gone on to great things reads like a Who’s Who of design. Alongside instantly recognisable names like Orla Kiely, Zandra Rhodes and Julien McDonald are others who may be less well-known but shaping design for various big-name brands and fashion houses. McQueen, Burberry, AllSaints, CocaCola and Virgin Atlantic are just some who have benefitted from their creative flair. The highly beneficial alumni community keeps RCA graduates in touch with the college and each other, consisting of some 20,000 former students based all over the world.
The college is also involved in a diverse range of research projects in the art and design space. All four of RCA’s schools offer postgraduate study, with around 170 postgraduate research students developing their subject-specific expertise.
iQ Hammersmith, Paris Gardens and Bankside are among the 13 iQ sites located throughout London, with good public transport links nearby. iQ Hammersmith is imbued with the musical heritage of the former Hammersmith Palais, and iQ Paris Gardens and Bankside are located within the Southbank area. All sites offer a range of recreational areas, many with a gym and cinema room, as well as useful amenities like free WiFi and an onsite launderette.
