Part of the Russell Group of universities, QMUL’s main campus is based in Mile End in London’s East End. It has a history that stretches back to 1785, and is named after Mary of Teck, King George V’s wife. It was ranked in the Global Top 50 for English, history, drama, and law by QS, and is 5th in the UK for the percentage of its research ranked 3* and 4*.
QMUL is also a key institution for medical research and teaching and forms part of UCL Partners — the largest academic health science centre in the world. Their Department of Drama is housed in The Harold Pinter Drama Studio, named after the Nobel Prize-winning playwright.
It’s close to the vibrant creative areas of Hackney, Hackney Wick and Shoreditch, with the stunning Victoria Park just up the road. It’s also near the Olympic Park and Westfield Stratford for some top retail therapy. Combined with a diverse population of 25,000 students, it’s an excellent place to study. They also have campuses in central London around Holborn and Farringdon, and further afield have a campus in Malta.
Our Aldgate and Magenta House buildings are within walking distance of the Mile End campus, and our City building is well-located for its central London campuses. Features across these buildings include cinema rooms, an onsite laundry and a gym.
