St George's, University of London

This medical school in south London was the UK’s second institution to offer formal training courses for doctors way back in 1733 — second only to Oxford University. Located in Tooting alongside St George’s Hospital, it has just under 5,000 students enrolled. Their rugby club is also one of the oldest in the world, dating back to 1863.

They have worked with organisations such as Stonewall, the Equality Challenge Unit and the Diversity Champion programme to promote diversity among their applicants. They also offer a course at Cyprus’ University of Nicosia which features clinical placements in the USA and Israel. Notable alumni include Edward Jenner, pioneer of the smallpox vaccine, and doctor turned BAFTA Award-winning comedian, Harry Hill.

Our Paris Gardens and Bankside buildings are both round the corner from Northern Line Tube stations which take you to St. George’s in 30 minutes. Features across them include a pool table and a barbecue area.
