Oxford Brookes University

Oxford Brookes was the only ‘young’ (under 50 years old) university in the UK to be named in QS’ World University Rankings in 2018. Its history actually stretches back to 1865 though, when the Oxford School of Art was founded. So along with its modern approach it also has historical roots in the city.

It has three beautiful campuses in and around Oxford as well as an additional one in Swindon. The main Headington Campus includes the majestic Headington Hill Hall building where their School of Law is located, as well as recent developments such as the £132 million John Henry Brookes Building. The striking new building houses the new student union and library and has won six awards including four from the Royal Institute of British Architects. £13 million is planned to be spent on further developments over the next decade.

Fittingly, their School of Architecture is particularly notable—consistently ranked in the Top 5 in the UK and Top 50 in the world. Their School of Law is also excellent, currently ranked 16th in the UK in the Guardian Good University Guide. It’s also a powerhouse for research, having received an HR Excellence in Research Award from the European Commission,

Our luxury Alice House building is a 14-minute bus ride or a pleasant 18-minute walk from the campus and features a laundry, great social spaces and regular events and secure bike storage. It’s also close to a beautiful woodland area, with some studios giving views over the river.
