Here’s how it works
Lucy gives her friends her unique resident ID number. When her friends book, they enter this, along with the Refer a Friend code, REFER-400. Charlie, Billy, Maddy and Tom all get £200 for being referred, while Lucy makes a big £800 for referring them. Go Lucy!

FAQs
Do I need to have already booked with iQ to refer friends?
Yes, you will need to have made a booking with us to refer friends, as you will need to give your friends your resident ID number to use when they book.
Who is eligible to refer friends?
Any current iQ resident, or anyone who has made a booking to live with iQ for the forthcoming academic year, is eligible to refer friends.
Do I have to use the online reservation service?
You should only use the online reservation service if you want to live in the same flat as the friends you refer – although you can still arrange this directly with the iQ site of your choice. If you are referring friends who may want to live at other iQ sites, or elsewhere within the same site, you should book your room independently and give them your resident ID and the referral promo code – they need to add these if they make a booking.
I’m not sure whether my friends want to live with me. What should I do?
You can send them an invitation via the online reservation service, and they can accept or decline. You are not committed to finding someone else if they decline. Make sure you give your friends your resident ID number and the valid referral promo code, so you can both benefit from cashback if they book.
How long are rooms reserved for?
The rooms you choose are reserved for 24 hours. If your friends accept your invitation, they have a further 48 hours to complete their booking.
How will I receive cashback?
You will receive your cashback on a pre-paid Visa debit card which you can use at most merchants who accept Visa (some limited acceptance merchants may not accept pre-paid cards). Cards are valid for one year from the date of issue.
When will I receive cashback?
You will receive your cashback card by 31st Dec 2021. You will receive an email confirming your card has been issued and should then receive your card within 7-10 business days.
I was referred by someone else but I didn’t have their resident ID at the time I booked. Can I add this later?
You can add this to your booking later, as long as this is done no later than 31st Aug 2021.
If we share a flat, will there be anyone else living there?
It is possible that some rooms in the flat you select may be occupied by other students. If you contact your chosen iQ site, they will be able to advise you on the current occupancy of a particular flat.
Do I need to pay my booking fee before I invite my friends?
You will need to pay whatever booking fee is needed to secure your own room. You will then receive a resident ID which you will need to give to the friends you refer.
Is there a limit how many people I can refer?
No, but all referrals must be made before 31st August 2021.
Will I receive referral cashback if my friend cancels their booking?
No. Sorry.
Can I apply a referral offer to an existing booking?
No, if a booking has been made and a referral promo code was not entered at the time of booking, we can't add this retrospectively.
