Founded in 1895, the London School of Economics (LSE) joined the University of London in 1900. King George V laid the foundation of the Old Building, which remains the principal building on campus. It regularly features within the top 10 universities in the UK in the leading university ranking lists. The university is a leading destination for thinkers across a variety of interests, with a famous series of lectures and a well-respected podcast available to the public.
More billionaires have been educated at LSE than any other university, and alumni includes 18 Nobel Prize winners in Economics, Peace or Literature, as well as over 50 past or present Heads of State.
LSE is located in Westminster in central London with over 30 buildings making up the campus. These can be found on the boundary between Covent Garden and Holborn. Surrounded by cultural history including the West End and theatre district, students can take part in all the city has to offer outside of their studies. There’s also plenty of history to be explored around the LSE sites, including the British Museum and the Royal Courts of Justice.
Our Paris Gardens building is a short and stunning walk across the river from the main LSE campus, and all residents receive free contents insurance, free WiFi and double beds.
