University of Sheffield

Ranked 13th in the UK and 75th globally in the QS World University Rankings, Sheffield University has also been named UK University of the Year at the Times Higher Education Awards within the last decade. In the 2017 The Times Higher Education Student Experience Survey, it was ranked 3rd best in the country.

Their student union was voted best in the UK in the 2017 Times Higher Education Student Experience Survey for an incredible ninth year in a row. It was redeveloped across 2012 and 2013 to the tune of £20 million and features a three-room club venue plus a student-run cinema, radio station and newspaper. A bustling hub of activity, it's complemented by nearly 300 students societies and close to 50 sports teams at the university.

It’s a research-led university, and one of the top 10 in the UK in terms of grant funding. Its research partners include Siemens, Unilever and Rolls Royce as well as many charitable and government organisations. It has over 180 specialised research centres, and in the 2017 Teaching Quality Assessment it scored ‘excellent’ in a record 29 categories.

All four of our Sheffield buildings are within a 5-10 minute walk of the main campus. Across Brocco, Steel, Century Square and Fenton House you’ll find some striking modern design, a gym, a cinema room, laundries, secure bike storage and study rooms. All include a variety of great social spaces.
