University of Salford

For those wanting all the benefits of what Manchester has to offer but with a calm, leafy campus experience, the University of Salford is perfect. The area is also buzzing in its own right, with the MediaCityUK development home to the likes of the BBC and ITV.

The university is set among 160 acres of riverside parkland and caters for nearly 20,000 students. Over £200 million has been invested in their facilities since 2004, including the new College of Arts, Media & Social Sciences at MediaCityUK.

On campus you’ll find the self-cooling/heating Lady Hale Building, the 400-capacity Peel Hall which plays host to music events and the Robert Powell Theatre. It also includes the Tom Husband Leisure Centre with a pool, gym, 25m swimming pool, sauna and spa, squash courts and climbing wall. There’s also the recently opened £55m New Adelphi building which is home to music, performance, art, design and architecture students, a newly extended library and a £16 million extension to the School of Computing, Science and Engineering.

Just 5 minutes’ walk from the University of Salford is our Student Quarter building. It has onsite shops, a cashpoint, a courtyard and barbecue area and every room includes an en suite shower room. It’s also only a 15-minute bus ride from Manchester City Centre.
