Earth Day takes place each year on the 22nd April. What started in 1970 as a mission to diversify, educate and activate the environmental movement worldwide has grown into the world's largest environmental movement, with over one billion supporters. The theme for this year's Earth Day is Invest In Our Planet.
The small things we do to be more environmentally responsible add up to make a big difference. It could be buying more organic food, ditching plastic bags for a stylish tote bag, turning off your electrics or supporting public figures who believe in climate change - all these small actions count towards making the world a better, greener place.
At iQ, we have our own Think Green initiative to encourage green living. With thousands of residents at our properties across the UK, building up small habits could make a real impact.
Why not start on Earth Day? Better yet, sign the Think Green pledge and start making small changes now. If your site is among the biggest energy reducers in a quarter, you could win one of five £500 prizes plus a £500 charity donation. Not bad for helping the planet.
