Latest internal appointment as company prepares for growth

iQ Student Accommodation, one of the leading providers of private purpose-built student accommodation in the U.K., today announces the appointment of James Mortimer to the role of Chief Financial Officer, following a successful interim period in the role. 

Since joining the business as Finance Director in 2017, James has helped steer iQ through the successful sale to funds managed by Blackstone, and will continue to play a key role in delivering the company’s ambitious growth plans.

Prior to joining iQ, James held UK and European commercial finance roles at Virgin Active over a period of 5 years. Before that he was a Director at Deloitte in the Transactions Services team, focused mainly on private equity. 

Commenting on James’ appointment, Matt Merrick, CEO of iQ said: “It is a great testament to the impact that James has had in the business, and the talented team he has built, that he is able to take on this new challenge.
