The Year of the Tiger: what it means for you

Farewell, 2021! It’s time to say adieu to sea shanty hysteria, billionaires going to space and bizarre name changes (we’re looking at you, Facebook). But hello to a new year. There’s something about it that brings excitement for the future ahead, and with that NYE buzz finally over, we have our eyes on the next celebration…. Chinese New Year.

According to the Lunar Calendar, we’re about to enter the new Chinese New Year on 1st February. And with that, a new zodiac animal will be taking the reins from the Ox.

2022 is the Year of the Tiger

After working like an ox all of 2021 (literally), it’s time to let our inner tiger shine. 2022 is made for bold action. People born in the Year of the Tiger are known to be great leaders, as well as courageous, outspoken, and energetic. Lady Gaga, Jon Bon Jovi and Leonardo DiCaprio are but a few daring darlings born in this zodiac year. (We feel this speaks volumes).

Year of the Tiger

Rat (born in 1984, 1996, 2008, 2020)

Rats, we know you’re intelligent and pragmatic but in 2022 it’s time to ignore the logistics and just go for it. Always wanted to be a chef? Take that cooking course and bring home the cheese.

Tiger (born in 1974, 1986, 1998, 2010, 2022)

Traditionally, a zodiac sign’s year is pretty unlucky for them in Chinese astrology. Sorry, Tigers. That being said, carry on being your bold self, use your lucky numbers 1 and 3, and things are destined to turn out well.

Ox (born in 1973, 1985, 1997, 2009, 2021)

Chinese horoscope advises you Oxen to take some time out of your busy schedule and prioritise a peaceful break. As your best season this year will be winter, perhaps a ski trip is in order.

Rabbit (born in 1975, 1987, 1999, 2011)

Rabbits will have a great year of ‘new loves’ and relationships. Take some inspo from Tiger and be bold in your romantic quests for hopping good results.

Dragon (born in 1976, 1988, 2000, 2012)

Chinese astrology suggests Dragons should indulge in physical activities for vigorous health in 2022. Ready to breathe fire? Join our iQ Fiit club here.

Snake (born in 1977, 1989, 2001, 2013)

We know being calm and mysterious is your vibe, but in 2022 it’s advised that snakes should be passionate and scale up (see what we did there) in all you do.

Chinese New Year

Horse (born in 1978, 1990, 2002, 2014)

2022 will be epic for horses, so saddle up. All your hard work from previous years will pay off and if you’re graduating this year, expect to be very happy with your grades.

Sheep (born in 1967, 1979, 1991, 2003, 2015)

Try not to be sceptical this year when it comes to your crafts (knitting, anyone?) and hidden talents. 2022 is the year for you Sheep to flaunt the skills you have to the world.

Monkey (born in 1968, 1980, 1992, 2004, 2016)

Use your magnetic and cheeky personality to go for that promotion or step up that you’ve been wanting. Autumn is a great time for Monkeys, so go ape!

Rooster (born in 1969, 1981, 1993, 2005, 2017)

2022 will be a mixed bag for you Roosters. If the year starts off disappointing, keep pecking away and expect some delights in the second half of the year. Your positive and optimistic traits will help you with waiting for this moment.

Pig (born in 1971, 1983, 1995, 2007, 2019)

Prioritise yourself this year, Pigs! You’re known for your compassion and empathy (and we love you for it) but it’s time to put yourself at the top of the list. Bring home the bacon.

Dog (born in 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006, 2018)

Say goodbye to any monotony and boredom as 2022 will bring excitement and new things to your daily routine. Some fun new friends are expected to join your pack.

Obviously, please take these 2022 predictions with a pinch of salt. Maybe even a whole spoonful. But what we can suggest for all our amazing residents for the Year of the Tiger is that strength and boldness are great traits to incorporate into your everyday life. So, whatever gives you strength in 2022, be bold and go for it.
