Tips for enjoying Christmas at iQ

It’s the season to be jolly, even if you're staying at iQ this Christmas. It might feel a bit different spending the day with family but there are loads of ways to make the most of the holiday season and create a Christmas to remember. Here are some of our top tips for getting into the Christmas spirit if you’re staying at iQ. 

Deck out your halls 

You can start out by bringing a bit of festive cheer to your room. Grab – or even #ThinkGreen and make - some cute decorations, string lights, and maybe even a mini Christmas tree to transform your room into your own festive getaway.  

Host a Christmas dinner 

Oven, Christmas hat, music – on. Find out who else is staying at iQ and get together for a festive feast. If you fancy yourself a chef, you can cook the whole meal yourself. Or, get everyone to make a dish and host a potluck instead. Make things personal by hosting in your studio flat, go social in your shared kitchen or go big in our onsite private dining rooms.  

Exchange Secret Santa Gifts 

Organize a Secret Santa gift exchange with your mates. Make sure you set a budget and have everyone draw names so each person gets a surprise gift. There are loads of websites that can do all of the work for you and you can even create and see eachother’s wishlists to remove some of that present pressure.  

Binge watch Christmas movies  

Hire out an onsite cinema room and cosy up with your favourite Christmas movies. Invite others and get the winter warmth going with hot chocolate, some popcorn and your fluffiest blankets.  

Organise a call home 

It’s no surprise you’ll probably miss your family and friends during Christmas. If you wanted to spend this time with them but couldn’t make it home, schedule some time in for a long virtual call. Superfast wifi will keep you connected so you won’t need to worry about the call cutting out.
