Student life Bradford

If you’re planning to study in Bradford, you’ll want a student flat that’s close to your campus and some of the best local student attractions. Here’s a look at a few top Bradford areas for students, and what makes them appealing.

Best Bradford Neighbourhoods for Students

Great Horton

The Great Horton area attracts plenty of students as it’s close to both the University of Bradford and Bradford College. The area is geared towards student living, with plenty of shops, take-aways and hangout spots along Great Horton Road.

City Centre

Bradford City Centre is a convenient place to live, with easy access to the university and college, and a free city bus service to help you get around. Living in the city centre means some of Bradford’s best bars, clubs and restaurants are right on your doorstep. Not only that, you’ll find attractions like City Park and The Broadway Shopping Centre just a few minutes away.

Manningham

Manningham is just north of the City Centre. The area is an especially good choice for business students, because it’s close to the Bradford School of Management. There are some great shops and eateries for students in Manningham, and the award-winning Lister Park is right next door. This beautiful Green Flag park features a boating lake, tennis court, café and museum, as well as the picturesque Mughal Water Gardens.

Heaton

This small village close to Manningham provides easy access to the Bradford School of Management, making it another great option for business students. Heaton’s village centre is close to Lister Park and a short walk from Frizinghall Road, which has plenty of shopping and leisure options.

Clayton

Clayton is less central, about 3 miles away from the main uni campus. This means accommodation prices in the area tend to be a little cheaper. It’s a quieter village that may appeal to older students and those who prefer a bit of distance from the bustle of the main city. Clayton Lane provides a variety of local shops, restaurants and amenities, and the City Centre is a 20-minute bus ride away.
