Sheffield Botanical Gardens make for an epic day outside if you’re in need of a quiet break from the busy day-to-day student life. Covering 19 acres and listed as a Grade II Heritage Site, the gardens have much to enjoy, but one of the highlights for students is that they’re free to enter - you can enjoy the gorgeous flora and fauna that the gardens have to offer without spending a penny. It’s also easy to travel to, being just a short bus ride from Sheffield city centre.

Have the Last Laugh - Comedy Club Sheffield City Hall

Every Friday and Saturday, Last Laugh Comedy Club at City Hall hosts a star-studded lineup of comedians performing for laughs and applause. It’s a great night out with friends and an equally fun spot for a date. With student discounts for entry, it’ll cost £11 for the night.

Witness sporting history - Sheffield F.C.

It’s no secret that Sheffield is extremely proud of their sporting history. Sheffield F.C. is the oldest football club in the world and the beating heart of the city’s awesome community. Football fan or not, going along to a game is a tonne of fun and an unforgettable experience. Be sure to visit the gift shop as well to pick up some merch and show some Sheffield pride.
