Plymouth

Student city guide to Plymouth

With a coastal location most university cities can only dream of, Plymouth is a special place to spend your student years. Our surfer-friendly student accommodation is just minutes from the sea and the city centre.

With over 20,000 people studying at the University of Plymouth alone, the city has a great student scene. With loads of nightlife, a growing food and drink scene that makes the most of outstanding fresh seafood, and several major music festivals across the summer, all tastes are catered for in Plymouth.

Plymouth’s coastal location has made it influential in the field of marine conservation. It’s home to the Marine Biological Association of the United Kingdom, and its National Marine Aquarium is a key local attraction. The waterfront areas include pretty marinas and the 17th-century Royal Citadel. It’s also a surfing hotspot.

Our Astor House student accommodation enjoys sea views from its central location and is a short walk from Plymouth University and Plymouth College of Art.
