Coventry University

With its roots in the Coventry College of Design of the 1840s, Coventry University has a long history of teaching in the arts and technology fields. Holding university status since 1992, the institution’s phoenix logo is a reminder of the city’s ability to rise again, as witnessed following the devastating damage Coventry suffered in World War II. Its modern, city-centre buildings also continue to reinvent themselves, with recent additions including a new science and health facility and two new transport research hubs.

The university has enjoyed many accolades in recent years, with strong rankings in university guides. Coventry was rated the UK’s top modern university every year from 2013-2019, by the Guardian University Guide, and was awarded University of the Year for Student Experience by The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2020. It also received a Gold award for outstanding teaching and learning from the Teaching Excellence Framework in 2017.

Today, the university undertakes a range of research projects in areas as diverse as engineering, sports and healthcare. It also fosters an entrepreneurial, innovative mindset at its own business park, and has developed strong relationships with a range of technology partners to provide additional opportunities for its students.
