Plymouth Marjon University

Located north of Plymouth city centre, Plymouth Marjon University offers a diverse range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses, in disciplines as varied as Cyber Security, Musical Theatre and Leadership and Management. Rated no.2 university in the UK for teaching quality in The Times’ Good University Guide 2019, the former University College Plymouth St Mark & St John was granted full university status in 2012.

The university places a strong focus on preparing students for their careers, with all courses including work placements, and links fostered with many employers in the area. One of its closest neighbours, BBC South West, recently moved to a brand new building, and Marjon will teach its journalism courses in their former premises next door. There is already regular collaboration with the BBC for modules covering television broadcast skills, radio presenting and documentary film-making.

The university has an active students’ union and, as a single-campus university, a strong sense of community. Facilities onsite include a 24-hour library, sports centre and a student union bar, Barjon, which hosts regular events including live music, film and comedy nights.
