You can keep your iQ skills and knowledge topped up at a time to suit you, with bite-sized learning and more in-depth courses, and log in anytime to check out your progress and learning plans.
The first few months set the foundations for your career with iQ, and our iQ Freshers programme is designed to get you up to speed quickly on what you need to know.
Through digital learning, you’ll find out more about us, develop your understanding of what we do and why, and work out the ways you can contribute to our ongoing success.
Your manager will be there to support you along the way and, once you’ve got the basics down, you’ll be able to access our wider learning platform where you can develop your skills and knowledge in other areas which interest you.
Just like our thousands of student residents, we understand the benefits of continuing to learn, and make sure that everyone who joins us has the opportunity to develop personally and professionally – whatever they do, wherever they’re based.
Recognition doesn’t start and end with an annual performance review. We encourage everyone at iQ to recognise the successes and achievements of others, as often as possible… after all, who doesn’t like a pat on the back now and again?
Every day, iQ staff make a difference to the lives of our student residents, and each other. So, we created the WOW Awards to celebrate those moments when iQers do something incredible.
How do we know who deserves to win a WOW? Our iQers tell us, by nominating each other every quarter, and then voting for their winners. Each quarterly award has its own prize – iQ’s way of saying thank you. All our quarterly winners then go forward to our annual awards night where the most outstanding nominees are rewarded. It’s a great night out, too!
What could you WOW us with?
We encourage applications from anyone who feels they can help us to be the best, irrespective of age, sexual orientation, disability, gender, race or religion. We feel that when people are free to be themselves at work, they can channel their energies into achieving great things – like delivering an incredible experience for our students.
Everyone at iQ has an important part to play in reimagining the student experience, and we need all our people to bring 100% of themselves to work to do that. This ensures we can benefit from a range of perspectives and points of view.
We encourage all our staff to take part in an annual survey too, where they can give us their honest feedback, which helps shape the direction of the business – so we can get even better at what we do.
We are always listening to our iQers, and we know that our teams care about giving back to their communities – whether by getting involved with local charitable events in the cities and towns in which we operate, or through fundraising activities for our partners Nightline and Relate (you can find out more about the work we do with these organisations here). We are working on creating even more ways to make giving back easier for our teams – from a calendar of fundraising events to take part in, through to putting Payroll Giving into place.

The iQ Cycle Day is our annual fundraising event, where iQers pedal for pounds to donate to our charitable partners – iQers from across our teams took part in the cycle ride, including our CEO and leadership team, raising £1500 for Nightline and Relate. There are always a number of different routes to choose from, so whether you fancy a short spin or are 'Tour de France-ready' there is something for all our iQers to choose from. Including, of course, being cheerleaders for their fellow team members.
