With a huge student population and two universities, what was once a highly industrial city now mixes culture, sport and nature. Located on the River Sheaf at the foothills of the Pennines, the hills around Sheffield’s centre offer stunning views.
What’s more, it’s been cited as possibly Europe’s greenest city, with an estimated 4.5 million trees across the 250 parks, woodlands and gardens that make up 61% of its area.

Home to the University of Sheffield and Sheffield Hallam University, it’s a great city to be a student. There are excellent live music venues, two major theatres and a big poetry and spoken word scene, as well as two football clubs and a huge number of pubs and award-winning curry restaurants.
