Salford has seen a huge amount of regeneration in recent years. It’s now the home of MediaCityUK — where BBC Sport and ITV Granada are headquartered — so there’s no better place for students wanting to get into media. A short journey into central Manchester and you get the benefits of the bars, restaurants and nightlife that city is known for.

For culture-seekers, Salford Museum and Art Gallery is next door to campus, and The Lowry is a theatre and modern art space on the quayside. Sports fans are looked after too, with Manchester home to two of the country’s biggest football teams.
